My goal for you (or your child) is to feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn, grow, and overcome current obstacles. I can help to teach you, your child, and your family skills that can be used to regulate overwhelming emotions, communicate more effectively, and improve meaningful relationships.
Right now, you are likely noticing that your emotions, negative thoughts, and patterns of behavior are getting in your way of a healthy relationship with yourself and others. You may have had a big life change, or you've been managing your symptoms for awhile now, maybe you have read the books, listened to the podcasts, tried a few things here and there, but still find yourself struggling. Let's work together so you don't have to figure it all out on your own.
I am a certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I work from a client-centered approach, so your sessions are tailored to you and your needs. In addition to EMDR therapy, I utilize mindfulness based strategies, dialectical behavior therapy skills, play therapy, sand tray, and can include family members in the therapeutic work as appropriate.
Over the past decade, I have had experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and first responders. Some common issues that I can help with are anxiety, worry, panic, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, low self-esteem, oppositional and defiant behaviors, self-harming, disordered eating, single event trauma, trauma and abuse, postpartum depression or anxiety, grief & loss, gender dysphoria, and stressors related to life transitions (new baby, marriage, divorce, relocation, etc).
